Details that feel like summer

designcraft

Good software has a temperature. Some apps feel cold and clinical; a few feel like a warm afternoon. The difference is almost never one big thing — it's a hundred small ones.

Motion with weight

Things in the real world have momentum. They ease in, overshoot a touch, and settle. Interfaces that move like that feel physical instead of robotic.

Type with a voice

A typeface is a tone of voice. A soft serif and a bit of handwriting say something a default system font never will. Pick fonts the way you'd pick words.

Color that breathes

Bright doesn't have to mean loud. Sand, sky, a little terracotta — warm neutrals with a couple of confident accents go a long way.

Sweat the small stuff. That's where the summer lives.
